Andy Bluvertigo

ANDY-Bluvertigo (Andrea Fumagalli) was born in Monza in 1971.

Chameleonic and eclectic artist, Andy is a talented musician.

In the early 90s he founded Bluvertigo with Morgan, contributing with sax, keyboards, voice and synthesizers to the composition of three albums and the publication of a live and a collection of hits.

The intense parenthesis with Bluvertigo sees him busy for several years, but also recently, between stages, tours, five participations in the Sanremo Festival, interviews and appearances in various TV programs (Very Victoria, Markette, 33 rpm, Sky Arte, Celebrity Chef, 5 participations in the May Day concert, Invitation to travel – Concert for Battiato) with important awards including an MTV Music Awards.

Called by Morgan as a judge in the selections of aspiring singers on the X Factor program – he was a columnist and regular guest on MTV’s “Absolutely 90’s” program. Regular guest and columnist in the “Scorie” program on Rai 2; Several times guest at the Sanremo festival (L’Aura, with Giusy Ferreri).

Keen observer of the contemporary musical reality, active in various contexts as a composer of soundtracks for Contemporary Dance, sonorizations for events related to design and fashion, producer of emerging bands, conductor of both television and radio musical programs, for twenty years Andy has he successfully dedicates himself to experimentation by proposing “alternative Dj-sets” in clubs and festivals throughout Italy characterized by an unusual fusion of electro-minimal sounds with 80’s wave.

Andy & The Bowieness

Currently engaged in the “Andy & The Bowieness” project, Andy brings to the stage with a band made up of prominent musicians a tribute dedicated to the extraordinary life of David Bowie, Engaged with voice, sax, keyboards, synthesizers and eclectic changes of clothes.

Always attracted by the figurative arts, he trained at the Art Institute of Monza and, subsequently, specialized in illustration and advertising graphics at the Academy of Applied Arts in Milan.

Inspired by the great masters of Italian art and by the English and American “pop” culture, seduced by the idea that the skilfully ennobled underground artistic current can find space in the mainstream, Andy consolidates over the years his very personal pictorial code based on the use scenographic of the fluorescent acrylic colors “held” in visible black borders, in turn, used to synthesize, in a captivating and never predictable way, both narrative and perspective shapes and planes.

As an inspirational suggestion I consider myself a surrealist. I cultivate an unconscious gaze, in which the image, even if taken from television, is always the result of dream codes. [Andy]

In fact, the recurring subjects painted on canvas, fabrics, musical instruments, design objects, are icons belonging to the collective imagination of art, music, cinema, but also cartoons and advertising, decontextualized to be recontextualized in the present through fragments of personal memories.

The original representation of contemporaneity through the use of fluorescent color, the vital center of Andy’s diversified artistic production promoted over the years through numerous solo and group exhibitions and art fairs, allows him to achieve considerable success in Italy and abroad , earning him collaborations with brands such as Coveri, Carlsberg, Iceberg, Redbull, Costa Crociere, Fiat, , too late, Uki, Valtur, Custo Barcellona, Ruffino, Gherardini, Galileo, Huawei, Unieuro, Visionnaire.
